ogatamon no tumblr dess-oo!
You may know me from making Japanese pony videos on YouTube. I hope that whilst you're here you'll stop to ask me some stuff. Please enjoy my little Tumblr corner. The roof leaks and the tatami mat is all frayed but I do have tea and cakes. And also several chickens running around.

Manga has the power to change society.

This is an article from Mainichi Japan’s website.
It’s all thanks to the influence of Hiromu Arakawa’s “Silver Spoon”, set in an agricultural high school. The number of students applying to the Dairy Science Course at the high school off which the manga is based has gone up from 32 applicants for Spring 2012 to 68 applicants for Spring 2013. It’s doubled just because of a manga. In other words, a manga has had an influence on peoples’ decisions.
Because manga can touch our hearts and influence the way we think and feel, it can open our minds and make us want to experience new things. If someone were only to try and do more admirable things through manga, maybe society really could gradually change.
